At Lydford House we aim to provide a welcome for all our guests. If you have special requirements due to disabilities of any kind please call us in advance so we can discuss your needs. For additional information please see below.

Lydford House is a Victorian country residence not a purpose designed guesthouse so there are certain practical limitations which may affect your stay with us.

Car Park - this is situated at the front of the house and access into the house is via one step. We are more than pleased to assist you with your luggage.

Bedroom - we have a twin room on the ground floor which is wheelchair accessible. The room has tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, colors TV with remote control and seating. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and WC. The room is accessed off the main reception hall through a fire door.

Guest Lounge - this room is on the level next to the front door and you are free to make use of it throughout your stay.

Dining Area - this consists of three rooms, the furthest conservatory area having a step down but the nearer rooms being wheelchair accessibly.

Gardens - there is a pleasant front terrace accessed via one step but there are seats in other parts of the gardens, which are on the level.

Surrounding Area - The Granite Way, off road, Cycle Path runs next to the house, there is ramped access onto it, being tarmac makes it suitable for wheelchair users, affording stunning views of Dartmoor. At the top of the lane there is a small car park on the moors with superb views of High Down it also provides fairly easy walking for the less mobile.
